Party, shock and grub!

Party season!

Everyone but my kids have Summer birthdays. I have to say I had to wind my jaw up after today's party we attended. It was an adorable Tinkerbell theme with beautifully thought out decor. As I stepped into the room I was staring at two beautiful canopies that were on either side of the cake table, streamers, balloons, etc...

SKIP IF NOT INTERESTED IN BREASTFEEDING: Not five steps into the room I was welcomed by a 12 year old with a "Mrs. ____, You know how to crash a party, just breastfeed!" Woah, that came from left field. I had all I can do to refrain to saying anything other then. "You know, I choose not to respond to that. That was rude! Did you hear me?" (as he rolled around on those stupid heelies...I think should be illegal for use w/o helmet.) He responded, "Yes." I then continued to look at the exquisite decor and thought about speaking to the child's Mother/my friend about what he said. I felt the urge to tell her because she cant correct it if she is unaware, right? If he has an opinion about my choice then talking to me would have been more appropriate in my opinion. Then I realized he probably wanted a reaction out of me, I'm 25 your 12, I'm not stupid.....I choose to drop it. If it is ever brought up again I will discuss it...and make it perfectly clear he has no choice when, where or how I feed my child. If his knowing what is going on under a blanket is what makes him uncomfortable, then by golly, turn around! Not like I'm using it as my milk gun to chase and squirt him. Just hasn't hit that level of maturity? I dono. But that didn't rain on my parade.

Both kids had a blast and I will say as if the decorations was not enough, the kids goodie bags were the best I have ever seen hands down. Since Max had duty, we just have to keep it a secret that a real Mexican cooked enchiladas, chili verde, pulled meat, rice and (un-burnt)beans that was off the hook. The food was even being served form those cool big warmer dish pans thingies. Max would have really been in love because she even had his favorite EL PATO sauce. Most have no clue what that is but he has been known to pay like $2.00 a can in Virginia when we can get 4/$1.00 in San Diego....and here....Grandma Arlene's side of the family provides him with that much needed Mexican vitamin.

Needless to say, she threw an AWESOME party with Delish food! I think I learned something from her. =0)
