These kitchen experiences can go one of two ways: She will kick me out of the kitchen before her 10th Birthday....or she will learn to burn from the best!

Chef Kalee
I have finally put my "get over it Averi, your not perfect in the kitchen either" cap on and recently allowed Kalee to explore the territory. She has taken a liking to cooking and I figure if she keeps it up I eventually wont have to! She got a kids cookbook for her Birthday and has made all kinds of things from it. Her favorite was a Greek salad with feta cheese. She loves cutting Bob and Larry tomatoes and cucumbers and it's a good thing Max and I have big mouths...next lesson will involve the bite size definition. Today I kick myself for missing a call from a friend in Kuwait made my way to the commissary in order to avoid the line that will be wrapped all the way around the store tomorrow (non-military friends: one line for all the registers) as a result of payday. Kalee made her menu and grocery list and was responsible for picking up those items. Tonight she insisted on fixing me dinner. I ate Elmo pizza faces with macaroni and cheese and a side of black olives. I know your jealous. ;) She spread the sauce on the bagel, shredded white cheese for under the eyes and yellow cheese for the mouth, cut the cherry tomato in half for the nose and the olives for the eyes. I put it in the oven and nearly BURNT IT!!! Stop laughing behind the screen! At least call me and do it in my ear! It was just Elmo getting a head start on his summer tan.
