Again?!?!

"Umm, Mom....look what my brother's doing" can never be a good phrase coming from my 4 year old's mouth. As I lean around the corner, I see his pull-up around one ankle doing his famous 'pssst' action, while relieving his bladder into the trash can that was by the stairs. I guess he had to go and Daddy was occupying the toilet! Either that or really wanted another horse sticker. Funny enough I had emptied the trash from up stairs and strategically placed it by the stairs for the next trip up. He used his brain and didn't potty on the floor. Gotta hand it to him. I had all I could do to hold my laugh while sprinting into the laundry room to retrieve a towel and wipe up the floor. Nope, he didn't miss. There was a split in the bottom of the trash can (shown to the right). As quickly as he filled it, it ran out the crack. I'm loving these wood floors right about now. Can ya get mad at him? I told Max and Kalee it's now time we start watching the bowl shaped toys, and our C-U-P's. Get it, see you pee!!! Yeah I'm tired. So I wonder if he's doing this because he likes all 3 of our reactions every time he goes in the toilet. Or is he really ready? This one likes to pee in interesting places so it shouldn't be difficult while out and about. Finally he is passed out in my right arm (I'm used to the single handed typing by now) wearing his spider man boxer briefs. NO! I'm not brave enough yet. Let's see what kind of Circe De Solis move I can pull while putting something more absorbent on him. Wouldn't it be nice if this continued tomorrow....?
...and why does my daughter like walking on the ceiling? Really! Her feet on the ceiling. Max holds her 'upa-down' as her brother calls it, and she gets a kick out of it. The winner of the weird gene is.......?????

Science Experiment

Hearing "Hey guys, let's do a science experiment" can never be good when Max has a drill in one hand, and a coconut in another. So how do you get into a coconut? Wow, I'm not sure if the water inside was fermented or what. Good thing I didn't leave the house because one sip would have caused me to blow over the limit. Acquired taste? I don't know.

I'm sure your curious about this Typhoon that went right over us last night. We were in Tropical Cyclone Condition Of Readiness I (TCCOR-I, it was due to hit within 12 hours) pretty much all day yesterday. We were set at TCCOR- Emergency about 20:00. Almost 12 hours later we are now in TCCOR Recovery some trees are down and the streets are a mess. Only my husband would want to sleep with the bedroom window open a few inches so he can hear the wind howling and blinds banging all night. We were awakened at the butt-crack with a call from the ship, shortly followed by Ombudsman related phone tree call....and been up since.

My son's new somewhat regular thing...peeing in the potty almost all day yesterday. This morning seems to be toilet friendly as well. When I ask him if he has to go potty he still does the grabbing himself and "pshhhh" action. I swear this boy makes me laugh daily. I have to give Kalee credit for helping with the potty training too. She yells for me every time he runs into the bathroom, and routes him on when he goes. She is such a great big sister. At this rate, he just might be potty trained before High School.

*I wasn't going to work on toilet training until after the move. He seems to have an interest in starting...and so do I.

Boys Are Different Then Girls

It's days like today that make me realize boys are far different then girls. While getting my sons clothes out of the closet this morning I was graced with the sound of liquid. As I thought "Where's that coming from?" I turned around only to find him peeing on my yoga ball. Yes the boy took his pull up off and aimed his body part upwards so it made a beautiful rainbow. The pot of gold was my yoga ball. He has one of those "look mom I can aim" grins and was so proud of himself, apparently. Any time some one asks him if he has to go potty he pushes his badupa forward and grabs his male body part while making the "pssssss" sound. Boys! After swooping him up and putting him on the toilet guess what I had to do? Change my clothes. Told ya I know how to grow laundry.

Today I also came to the conclusion my daughter is...ummm, something else! She is at that age she is realizing younger kids bother her. You read that right. They bother her. I' trying to teach her to be the big example....I think she might be too mature for her age. Any idea where she got that one from?

Well off to secure the backyard toys that may become a missile hazard. Typhoon Fitow is due to hit tomorrow. In all the typhoons we've had while living here I think this is Max's first one on land. Normally the ships pull out when the storm is due to hit since it's safer for the piece of steel to be underway. Funny thing, his ship's not normal right now.

See me breathe?

I woke up this morning with a nasty sore throat. Wait, let me rephrase this. Max woke me up this morning to remind me to put the pot roast in the crock pot. As I sat up and said "OK, thanks" I was able to see my breath. Max likes to keep the room at 18*Celsius. In Fahrenheit it's...umm, really cold. So the fact I only got a sore throat when my son likes to kick the covers off is amazing.

Max bathed the kids after dinner and I decided to escape for a run. When I was changing, I noticed I was wearing my tank top backwards. ALL DAY! How do I manage to do things like that? Worst part about it, I taught my PT TOTS class today and no one noticed. Well, if they did they didn't tell me. And how many times a day did I lift it to feed that boy of mine? You'd think I would have noticed.

My throat still hurts. Finally, I'm going to bed! But first I have to fold the clothes that are in the dryer, put the clothes from the washer to the dryer, wipe the ice cream off the table, start the dishwasher, clean the bathroom, and mop downstairs. =0)

Until next time....

Where is the Sarushima?

We can we finally say we visited Sarushima Island (means Monkey Island in English). Funny enough we came home with the same amount of monkeys we went with. We started the day off by meeting up with a few friends and wandering down towards Mikasa Park. As always, I told the kids to find a special leaf for "leaf races". We race leaves down a nicely landscaped stream/waterfall/pond thing. Once they left the hand we follow along besides them for about 50 feet until the end of the stream. The first portion is about Bear's chest height which leads to a waterfall and then the water travels like a stream. Bear was keeping a watchful eye on his leaf...in fact such a watchful eye he walked, OK, fell into the pond. Yes the boy fell in about 18 inches of water fully clothed! His Nana would be proud, he didn't mess up his hair. The Picture to the left is me ringing out his shirt before I had to jog home for a change of clothes and shoes. Once he was dry and I got my unexpected workout we waited in line for a ferry to take us to the Island. Of course while waiting we HAD to do one of those dorky Japanese bunny finger poses (pic to the left). Bear has been on Daddy's boat many times but this was the first time a boat pushed off while he was on it. Max was standing up holding him because I sure don't have sea legs, and Bear put his head down...poor baby was feeling so sick his hair was standing up, as you could see. Once we got on the island and hiked around we saw some of God's interesting creatures. A bunch of Japanese people were standing around on a stairway staring at something. As we passed Max said it was just a little lizard. One of the Japanese guys corrected him and said "leesarrdooo". Whoops. Now Max is learning Jinglish. Max taught his son to put the little crabs in his pocket. Thanks Babe! Now I get to fish out crabs from the washer (no pun intended). An old local fisherman let the kids touch the fish he caught. And another foreigner came by to deliver hermit crabs to a little water hole. Yet another hour of entertainment for the kids....and just as long explaining to Kalee why we didn't see monkeys on Monkey Island.

Beautiful nature. Four well behaved kids. No whining. Nice weather. All in all, fun times. I want to go back again with MY camera...Max's ship camera just didn't cut it for my eye.

Party, shock and grub!

Party season!

Everyone but my kids have Summer birthdays. I have to say I had to wind my jaw up after today's party we attended. It was an adorable Tinkerbell theme with beautifully thought out decor. As I stepped into the room I was staring at two beautiful canopies that were on either side of the cake table, streamers, balloons, etc...

SKIP IF NOT INTERESTED IN BREASTFEEDING: Not five steps into the room I was welcomed by a 12 year old with a "Mrs. ____, You know how to crash a party, just breastfeed!" Woah, that came from left field. I had all I can do to refrain to saying anything other then. "You know, I choose not to respond to that. That was rude! Did you hear me?" (as he rolled around on those stupid heelies...I think should be illegal for use w/o helmet.) He responded, "Yes." I then continued to look at the exquisite decor and thought about speaking to the child's Mother/my friend about what he said. I felt the urge to tell her because she cant correct it if she is unaware, right? If he has an opinion about my choice then talking to me would have been more appropriate in my opinion. Then I realized he probably wanted a reaction out of me, I'm 25 your 12, I'm not stupid.....I choose to drop it. If it is ever brought up again I will discuss it...and make it perfectly clear he has no choice when, where or how I feed my child. If his knowing what is going on under a blanket is what makes him uncomfortable, then by golly, turn around! Not like I'm using it as my milk gun to chase and squirt him. Just hasn't hit that level of maturity? I dono. But that didn't rain on my parade.

Both kids had a blast and I will say as if the decorations was not enough, the kids goodie bags were the best I have ever seen hands down. Since Max had duty, we just have to keep it a secret that a real Mexican cooked enchiladas, chili verde, pulled meat, rice and (un-burnt)beans that was off the hook. The food was even being served form those cool big warmer dish pans thingies. Max would have really been in love because she even had his favorite EL PATO sauce. Most have no clue what that is but he has been known to pay like $2.00 a can in Virginia when we can get 4/$1.00 in San Diego....and here....Grandma Arlene's side of the family provides him with that much needed Mexican vitamin.

Needless to say, she threw an AWESOME party with Delish food! I think I learned something from her. =0)

Green Thumb

I found my green thumb. Well, actually my family did. We can grow laundry. Seriously, how can a family of 4 produce so much laundry in 3 days?

I counted my daughters underware and there were 13 pair. I just did laundry 3 days ago? Yup, she's potty trained...and has been since she was 16 months old.

My son has a sock fetish. Obviously because of my no shoe rule he removes shoes upon entry, coincidentally he removes socks too. For some reason his socks are laced with miracle grow because boy does my dryer like to eat them.

Then there is my Husband....who starts the day off in uniform that gets washed daily because it smells like 'shiP', changes into PT clothes, then after work wears civilian clothes, and the around the house comfy PJ's....WOW!!!

Me? Well lets see, I start with gym clothes about 6 days a week because I gotta at least get my jog on to keep sanity. Then my daily clothes... times 2, because I'm bound to get snot rubbed on my shirt or hosed down if I step too close to the back door, and if I'm lucky by about 22:00 finish the day off with Pajamas. Not so bad.

Oh wait I figured out what species reproduces the quickest....TOWELS. Between all of us this time of year we can max out at 11 showers any one day. That is 11 towels! Summer time, pool...keep counting. They dont dry in this humidity so re-useing them is not an option.

...and this is just the daily stuff we wear. I tallied all 14 kitchen towels were used in 3 days. And bed sheets? If I can re-train the husband to keep food downstars maybe I wont have that pizza roll stain on my cream sheet...that I didn't find til morning!

*Sigh* This dosen't look like a plant. Any good weed killer suggestions?
