Skapri Review

I'm slightly shocked at the amount of positive phone calls, comments or texts I have received about the previous post.  Thank you for taking your time to express your support or share your thoughts with me.

I ordered a "skapri" by Skirt Sports.  Obviously a skirt and capri combo.  I tried it on and just like new pants of any kind, it took a minute to get used to.  All though it was a short skirt over mesh capri leggings, the skirt portion actually ended up being a bit longer then I was expecting.  I had a few concerns with the whole skirt and fitness concept and expected a little trial and error to find out what style or brand works for me.  My biggest concern is functionality.  I don't want  to be restricted with range of motion and I don't want it so lose that when I'm instructing, members can't see my form to mimic.  I know.... asking a lot!  Last weekend I wore it to cycle and was rather shocked that it did not catch the saddle even once!  Not quite sure if I think its longer then it actually is or if my comfortable seated 45* angle was a contributing factor.  Either way I was impressed!  This skapri is a win for the bike.  Monday morning I put it to the "running and strength" test.  I have to confess I had doubt.  When I run, I don't like my shirt to creep up or my pants to fall down.  I have many capris and pants I will not wear when I run.  They are were strictly my elliptical bottoms.  To my surprise, it's wasn't slipping AND I could probably go a size smaller based on the amount of loose fabric on the skirt part (but not enough to exchange it).  After a few miles I grabbed a ball and started to do my ab work.  While doing crunches on the ball I noticed the skirt material stuck to the ball and the pant part stuck to the skin, but the material against material started slipping after a few sets.  This means I need to do one of two things, engage more in my legs to balance without sliding or pull the back part of my skirt up to allow skin/material/ball contact.  Such a small, resolvable issue...so again, it's a win for pounding pavement and lifting led.  :)  Since the Skirt Sport brand was a hit, I wanted to explore other cheaper options and ordered a Reebok skapri on e-bay.  I like the fit.  The fabric is a little slicker and will get to test out the functionality tomorrow.

Besides that, Kalee and I have really been blessed with some AWESOME thrift store finds.  :)  If you saw what I was wearing at the Classical Conversations of Western Branch Orientation Meeting last night.....well, um, that whole outfit (minus the shoes) was a whopping $4.50.  I even find sales at Goodwill.  Don't hate!  I just know how to shop smart.    ThanyyouverymuchMom!
