'Skate' in the Aquarium

Today Max knew he was going to have a short day so we dropped him off at school, went to Target to grab a few things, and picked Max back up so we could head to the Aquarium. What a wonderful day we had together and after seeing 3 full buses of little ones that wasted more time learning how to stand in line then exploring the massive amounts of educational exhibits in the facility...a lost school child... what a great reminder of why we choose to home school :)

My little 7 year old "Docent" surprised several of the Docents that were on the schedule today. She explained the difference of skates and sting rays, identified the 4 different kinds of sting ray's in the ray touch pool, showed her Daddy the parts of the horseshoe crab and informed him they have blue blood and are a part of the spider family, explained why snakes shed skin and found a 'mermaid purse'. Bear warmed my heart too. Yes, it's a good thing I has tennis shoes on. :)

I am so blessed to be a stay at home mom and do what I feel parents belong doing, educating (school teachers instruct, parents are still responsible for enforcing and being a part of the child's education) and training their children. Just when I think I'm screwing my kids up, I have a day like today and realize I'm doing what God has called me to do. I'm so thankful for a extremely supportive husband as well.

Now I'm on a mission to find a sports bra that is just as supportive.

They should put Kalee on the schedule!

You are blessed to have the opportunity to home school and want to do it for your family. I am proud of ya sweetie. :)

That's awesome! I love that I get the chance to stay at home as well. I wish I could make the choice to home school but I just don't think I have it in me but I commend you for doing it! As for the sport bra...I don't think there is one out there. I've tried and tried and can't ever find "the one" but good luck!

If you find one let me know! But the kids are great and they listen to way more than we realize sometimes don't they!!
