Yes, eye appointments are due for everyone in this house! Today the kids and I got our exams. I hate to admit, it's been a whole decade since I have seen an eye Doctor. The only reason I remember that is because I last went to the office where my friend Laura worked...when I was still in High School! Wow. Bear, only high on eggs and cheese, was looking with his hands the whole visit. If I didn't know better I'd a thought he was blind! He was so curious as to what this did... why the light was so bright... how that machine worked... or why the "E" was upside down. His eyes are fairly normal. Yes, I only said eyes for a reason. Unless, of course, you find another normal child the starts spinning around the second they lay eyes on something with sugar in it...like yogurt. Kalee was the perfect patient. I tell you that kid is the COMPLETE opposite of Bear. In almost every way! She has an astigmatism and is far sighted in her left eye. The Doctor also told me that there is some kind of correlation between A-topic dermatitis and 'so-n-so-and-such-n-such' in the eye so that means she gets Rx glasses for any activity that involves reading and eye drops. We tried different glasses on in the office and tried some on at Wal-Mart. I think I'm going to take her to Sams Club tomorrow to see what selection they have and price them too. My eyes, well... they still work. For long term reading she suggested glasses for me too. I am also far sighted and have an astigmatism in my left eye. Like mother, like daughter...I guess. She noticed a sebaceous cyst that looks benign on my eyelid that had been there for oh.....5 years?! She wants me to give up using jojoba oil as an eye makeup remover for a month and try some other eye lid chemical wash to see if that makes a difference. If not I may get sent to plastics. Not quite sure what that means but my mind sure is wandering with what kind of plastic surgery can be done on eyelids. Or if they can add eyelashes. I'd rather save the money to lift and fill something else that sags about 3 feet below my eyes! Oh wait...farsighted, right! I meant 2.5 feet below my eyes.
Oh the joys.
Bear just decided to remove the remote from our space heater and slip a finger skate board in that hole. Yes, you guessed right... it skated down inside the heater and got stuck! Kalee could see the edge of the board so she decided to get needle-nose pliers to attempt to remove it for him. After about 5 minutes of unsuccessful consistency, she threw in the towel. A few minutes later I saw Bear digging at a screw on the back of the unit. I asked him what he was doing and he replied ever so sharply, "I'm using these nosey pliers to take this thing apart Mom!"
Nosy? Hum, now I understand why men like tools!

I can not tell you the last time I went to the eye doctor, I think I was in elementary school. It definately souned like an adventure. I hope your eye lid gets better and you don't have to use your fund for eye lids rather than your sagging buddies. I wouldn't mind fixing mine either!
