I'm pleased to report we made it to church this morning ON TIME! Actually, we walked in about 2 minutes early...amazing! If my time keeper...Max...isn't on me, almost backing the car out of the driveway before I step out... I seem to always arrive fashionably late. Too bad that fashion went outta style years ago. Where have I been? After lunch, Kalee helped me clip coupons. I'll never give those things up. It thrills me to look at a receipt and realize I save more then I spend. I mean, that's an instant high! Funny enough it's also the closest to a high I've ever been. Unless your talking about a sugar high, or lifting His name on high, or standing on the 6th station of Mt. Fuji high, or cooking on high?!?! Really, one little piece of paper makes me call the world and share how I got $65 worth of groceries for $8... and no, I'm not like my Mom ;) who had an outrageous back stock of shampoo and toothbrushes (I order my shampoo online anyway). I get non-instant food and produce! Kalee helped me clip them today, I'll teach her how to file them next, and finally use them so I can get a high off of listening to how much she saved.
Tonight I did something I have never done. Well let me start by saying Bear has had major separation issues with me. He won't even let me go to the toilet by myself.... ok so he never has but that's besides the point. I can't figure out what the problem is. The past few Awana meetings he has clung to me like crazy. I can't step out of the room to plop my rear in the hallway floor to read! My neighbor had a great suggestion. She would take my kids along with hers and drop them off and standby for a few minutes in case he started crying. Then he would not have the separation shock at the door. Well, I thought it was a great idea and it worked! I buckled him in and he waved to me. 15 minutes later (it's only about a 2 minute drive across the street) she returned saying he said my name once and she told him I would be back to get him after they had fun. Wow! How did I spend my hour and a half you might ask? I used it wisely by doing dishes, oiling the furniture, and I even got bible study time in. Shocking huh? I went to go pick him up and as I walked in everyone who was used to seeing me sit in the hall was telling me "Your gunna laugh". My instant thought was " great, what did he pee on?" but to my surprise the boy was passed out on the table! Yup! They said he fell asleep while coloring about 20 minutes before I arrived. As I put him in the car he looked up at me with an ear to ear grin and his arms tightened around my neck. "Hi, ah-mah!" "Hi baby, did you have a good time?" "Des (yes) big boy now, not baby ay-more." Yes, I had the empty tummy feeling...and tears.
I know, your probably still stuck on "Huh, Averi left her kids?" Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking that.
