Rollin' the Dough

Sally goes round the sun, Sally goes round the moon, Sally goes round the chimney top every afternoon....
I'm still stuck at parachute play form yesterdays party. It was fun!...for those under 5. Actually even the adults went in the bouncer. Max was bouncing so much we almost had to chase the thing around the party room. I'm proud to say I DIDN'T BURN ANYTHING and I only forgot the sour cream and ice cream scoop at home. For me that's great! The cakes turned out so yummy and cute too. Bear kept trying to sneak a finger poke in when we were not looking...lil' ham. Another friend made some addicting salsa...I put half the bowl away myself. ...and I'm so sad the Rodriguez family (those lingering fart friends I talked about previously) will miss next years party. 5 consecutive Birthday's...that doesn't come by often in the military community.

Since we have about 4lbs of beans left from yesterday Max wanted tortillas to go with them. Real tortillas. Not the Manny brand from the Commissary. No. Home made tortillas. The only home made thing I know how to make are beautiful babies....I haven't mastered the tortillas yet. Well I got the ingredients down but not the rolling. I can roll the dough out, but for some reason they look like Japan... I turned and got them to look like Texas. How come I cant get them round? I was about to take a small bowl out and flip it upside down to use it like a cookie cutter. Cooke cutter, tortilla cutter, same difference. His grandma would be proud of how they tasted too...and I used Safflower oil instead of lard. I will say I got ab work in while rolling them. It takes some elbow grease to make those things and I even cheated and threw the dough in my Kitchen Aid. Sheesh, I hand it to Grandma. Now she has to teach me how to fight off the passer-bys that snatch one every time they walk in to see if I need help. No wonder she makes huge batches.

I also have to apologise to my readers. Most of the time I mean from instead of form. It drives me crazy. It really does. And because form is a word, spell check skips over it. Waht, I mean what is another one too. So if your an English Major and reading my blog, I'd be curious to hear waht you have to say. Haha.
